Securing Your Future Why TVC?

Today the world is witnessing dynamic technological and scientific changes. Lifelong learning is becoming a norm in a fast-paced business environment. Those with the right vision will seek opportunities amidst the challenges and set their sights on a better future and greater life. With a growing economy, there is pressure on the labour supply for skilled and qualified workers.

Since 2003, Thames Valley College has been preparing students for the changing job market by providing leading edge training in Business & Accounting, Computers, Legal, Healthcare & Office Administration and Police Foundations.

Campus Admissions Officer Julia, Says, “ at the London Campus, students enjoy a friendly, relaxed, student- focused atmosphere, one that focuses on their success and future.

Landing Jobs for Our Studnents in the Number One Priority

Julia Comments “The positive feedback from many reputable companies that have hired TVC students for responsible positions is most welcome. Such feedback provides the basis for the design of effective curriculum that is market-driven and job-focused”. TVC continues to strategically build relationships with leading companies in order to increase the possibilities of landing jobs for graduates.

Shanta the Office Administrator says “The strategy is to discuss jobs at the beginning of the program rather than at the end.” The continued focus at this campus is to prepare students not only with the technical skills but also with the people skills required to land the job of their choice. To this end, a Professional Skills module is included in the curriculum. Many companies have commented positively on this module.

Dave the Campus Director said “It is heartening to see students landing well paying jobs just a few weeks after the end of their programs. A number of students also recently secured jobs prior to the completion of their programs. One student had to complete her last module by correspondence because she was called into work immediately. A number of students sponsored by HRDC successfully completed their programs and went on to secure excellent jobs”.

Project Based Hands on Learning

Students commented on the hands-on approach to instructors who are all industry professionals. Many students have said that they enjoy their programs because they are involved in doing real tasks and projects rather than talk and theory alone.

Professional Certifications

At the London campus students receive more than just their TVC Diploma, for example, students who complete the Business program are advised to enroll with the Canadian Institute of Management to obtain professional certification. Also students completing the Accounting & Payroll administrator program can receive Professional certification from the Canadian Payroll Association.

Programs run on a modular format and students can attend Full time, Part time and Evenings.

Many immigrant students or those displaced due to downsizing find short duration of the programs useful. Many students find half-day classes convenient as they allow for part-time work and in the case of those with children, allow more time with the children and reduced baby-sitting costs. The area of interest of studies at the London campus continues to be Accounting and Payroll Administration, Business Administration, Legal Administration, Medical Office Administration, MCITP, Police Foundations, and Web Design.
